In a little pocket of Farnborough, Hampshire, you’ll find the Mandalina Bakery where delicious home-made cakes, cupcakes and cookies are baked for your pleasure.
Cupcakes are at the heart of Mandalina Bakery and we’re able to bake and deliver for all manner of occasion, including: birthdays, corporate events, weddings, hen parties, stag dos, anniversaries, baby showers and christenings.
We also make cakes, cookies, whoopie pies, cake pops and anything else that you dare to dream of, with our satisfied customers stretching as far afield as Surrey and Sussex.
All our creations are hand-decorated and freshly baked using local produce, free range eggs, fair trade products and organic ingredients wherever possible.
The name for the bakery is the Turkish word for mandarin which just so happens to be Mandalina’s Chief Baker’s favourite fruit and colour.
About Mandalina’s Chief Baker, Ayça Wilson
Ayça comes from Turkey and has been baking all her life for friends and family.
The decision to go professional was simple as baking is her primary passion and she’s pretty darn good at what she does.
Her natural generosity and love of baking ensures all of her home-made products are produced to an extremely high-standard and if you’re hoping for the personal touch then Ayça certainly won’t let you down no matter what the occasion.
A brief interview with Ayça
I’ve been cooking and baking for as long as I can remember – food is important in Turkish culture as we celebrate and mourn with it. Desserts and cakes are even more special so I’ve grown up in a house where fresh pastry delicacies were a daily occurrence and this made a massive influence on my current methods of baking.
Funnily enough, most people in my family are super fussy eaters, my mum being the most difficult. She hates heavy cakes and most icing so I made it my mission to create the ultimate light sponge topped with fluffy light icing (thank you cream cheese!) and feedback proves I got there in the end.
By baking for my family and friends (I cannot go to anyone’s house empty handed) I found the courage in myself to step up and turn professional and I’ve never looked back.”
And a bit of serious stuff… Ayça Wilson is a registered sole trader t/a Mandalina Bakery and has a Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing. Mandalina Bakery is fully registered with Rushmoor Borough Council and has passed the inspection call.
