Camouflage cupcakes
Emma kept telling me for some time that she’s been looking for an excuse to order a cake from me, bless her =] So her son’s 7th birthday party was the perfect opportunity!
She planned an army themed birthday party for Tristan’s 7th birthday and I made a camouflage cupcakes with army decorations and a matching cake.
For the cake, I baked the vanilla sponge in camouflage colours (which was a surprise), iced with chocolate ganache and covered with camouflage pattern sugarpaste which was so much fun to make! I couldn’t photograph the inside of the cake of course so Emma kindly sent me a photo afterwards.
For the camouflage cupcakes, I piped 3 tone swirls made with the same colours of the cake and hand made stars, army rank insignia and hand bombs as decoration. As I was working with quite dark colours, I sat the decorations on light colour florist paste circles before putting on the cupcakes and the result was quite good, if I may say so myself!
I’d like to wish Tristan a very happy birthday once again and I look forward to making his future birthday cakes too as his mum Emma comes up with great party ideas! x
